Abscissa
It's just a fancy word for the x-coordinate on a graph. Basically, it tells you how far left or right a point is from the center.
Examples
To find the abscissa, look at the x-axis.
The abscissa of that point is 5.
When plotting the graph, make sure you get the abscissa and ordinate right.
